New Delhi: The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has registered another FIR against Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and several others in the National Herald case. This case has been in the headlines for many years, and now with the new FIR, the political stir has increased again. Many serious allegations have been made in the complaint, which has now again come under investigation.
EOW has registered this new FIR on the basis of the complaint in which it has been said that Associated Journals Ltd. (AJL) was wrongfully taken over. The complaint claims that this acquisition was planned through a company named Young Indian, in which the Gandhi family is said to have a major stake.
AJL once ran the National Herald newspaper and owns valuable assets across the country. The allegation is that it was gradually brought under the control of Young Indian on the basis of the loan given by Congress. The complainant alleges that all this was done for “political influence and personal gain.”
The FIR includes Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and some other leaders and officials associated with Congress. Names of some companies related to Young Indian and AJL also come up. According to the police, the charges include cheating, breach of trust, and criminal conspiracy.
It is being said that the foundation of the FIR rests on the report sent by the ED, in which many financial irregularities were mentioned. ED's investigation is already going on, and now Delhi Police will also re-examine the facts at its own level.
Congress is calling this FIR an act of political vendetta. The party says that an atmosphere is being created by raising old allegations again. He claims that the entire matter has already been presented in the court and this step has been taken only to harass the leaders.
Now the matter will again go between the court and the investigating agencies. The process of interrogation, scrutiny of documents, and recording of statements will begin. From a political point of view, this issue will become more heated in the coming days, because its direct impact can be felt from Parliament to the streets.
